Easter Children's message

Children's Message

Carlise Villa in the Bunny Costume - Thank you thank you thank you.

The livestream service on Sunday - sitting (hiding) behind the church pedestal on the church side. I will do is greet everyone and then I will invite all the children to come to the children's message then you stand up and come around the pedestal to where I am and we will have our conversation.

Stephen: Easter bunnies, and pretty Easter baskets. One thing that all of us think of when we think of Easter is Easter eggs. How many of you have ever been on an Easter egg hunt?  Hey! Here comes the Easter bunny now!
EB: (wave at the camera)
Stephen: I have to tell you all - I'm a little surprised to see the Easter Bunny.  I don't remember the Bunny being in the Easter story.
EB: I am not in the Easter story - but I am in the Bible.
Stephen: (I look in the Bible) Hey - Bunnies or rabbits do not appear in the Bible except for one verse. The rabbit is listed next to the rock-badger in a list of things not to eat.
EB: I know!  Thank you, God!
Stephen: So, Easter Bunny -what are you doing here?  Are you hiding Eggs
EB: There will be time for that later. I came to worship.
Stephen: Worship?
EB: YES - this is a great day to worship. I like celebrating!
Stephen: that's exactly what worship is, isn't it? Worship is a form of celebration!
EB: EGG-xactly.
Stephen: EGG-xactly? I get it, EGG-XACTLY.
EB: You are right - there are no Bunnies in the Easter story - but I like to think that I can help tell the story.  I am a little shy, though, that is why you don't see me very often.  (whispers in Stephen's ear)
Stephen:  Uh huh... I see.. Really? (nodding and responding to the pretend whispering).
Stephen:  Ok!  This is what our shy Easter Bunny was telling me...  One of the fun things about hiding eggs is that when we find them, there is such joy and celebration. On that Easter morning when the women and disciples went looking for Jesus, at first they could not find him. But then when they did, they were filled with joy and excitement and amazement. Easter Bunny, I love that part two. Thank you for helping us celebrate and worshiping today.
EB: Praise God and don't eat rabbits.- He is risen!  Happy Easter - Let us Worship.
Stephen: Hey... I'm supposed to say that. Let us Worship.  Before you go children - let's pray..... (Stephen prays)
EB: (During my prayer -go quietly)
